Girls’ Choir – The first rehearsal of the Choir will take place on Wednesday in G19, at 1:30pm.  Come along and bring your lunch. I look forward to seeing you all there.

S5/6 Prelim timetables – S5/6 Prelim timetables will be issued today (Tuesday).  Any pupils with an exam issue are asked to meet briefly with Mr Jamieson in the Assembly Hall at 11 am (after interval).

Krakow Trip – Can all S4 pupils going on the Krakow trip in June this year please attend a meeting at break on Friday 11th January in Room 3.1.

S5 – Dental Insight 2019 – an opportunity to shadow current dentistry students at Dundee Dental School . Applications will be opening on Sunday 10th February at 6pm and will close on Sunday 17th February at 6pm. Pupils who are not successful but do meet requirements will be placed on a waiting list. Further information including eligibility requirements are available from Mrs Martin.

House Teams – There will be a meeting for all house team members (senior/junior house captains and senior/junior sports captains) on Wednesday at 1:45 in the PE classroom.  It is essential that all house team members attend.  If you cannot attend please see Mr Robinson beforehand to explain your absence.

Duke of Edinburgh – Silver Group (Mr Sutherland) – Could all students who are in Mr Sutherland’s Duke of Edinburgh group please meet on Wednesday break time in the PE classroom. Please bring with you all of your Duke of Edinburgh paperwork.

Basketball training continues
Monday: Seniors 3:45 to 4:45 in the New Games Hall
Tuesday: Juniors 3:45 to 4:45 in the New Games Hall
Also, a huge well done to the Senior basketball team who won 50 -31 against Prestonpans HS in the Scottish Plate competition. The team will travel to either Dunbar or Falkirk in the next round.

Pupils aged 13+ – I am looking for pupils who may be interested in doing a badminton leaders course on the basis that you would then help with a Primary festival at Perth High on February 11th. Please see Miss Cook in PE for more information or to put your name down for the course.

All pupils – A reminder that supervised fitness suite sessions take place on a Monday and Thursday at lunchtime with Mrs Paul. A session is also available after-school with Mr Gordon on a Tuesday.

All Pupils – New Year, New You?! Clubs will be starting again this week so why not come along and try a club out if you have not been to anything already. A timetable of lunchtime and after-school clubs is displayed in both PE areas. There’s something for everyone and for all age groups.

S1 Pupils – Inter-House Table Tennis Tournaments will take place on Thursday 17th and Thursday 24th January. If you wish to take part sign-up sheets are located outside the Active Schools office which is on the left hand-side as you enter the new PE block. Please note that you can only sign up for one of these dates. There are only 3 spaces left for Balmanno however there are more spaces available for other house groups.

Netball – Training will start back on Tuesday 15th lunch time and Wednesday 16th after school.  S3 Scottish Cup vs Lathallan THIS WEDNESDAY 9th afterschool.

Interhouse S1/2 Netball Final – The postponed final for Elcho vs Huntingtower will take place on Wednesday at lunch in the old games hall.
