All Pupils – Scottish Teen Book Awards – Any pupil waiting to read Finn & Rye & Fireflies from the Scottish Teen Book Award shortlist, we now have copies available in the library!
Perth High School Advent Food Box Appeal – We are hoping to donate foodboxes to the local community and foodbank. Our idea for this year comes from the reverse advent calendar where people put an item of food in a box for each of the days in December leading up to Christmas. At the end, there is a boxful of food to be donated to someone in need. Lockdown has highlighted more how many people struggle on a daily basis. This would mean that each pupil brings in one item (if they can) over the coming week. Pupils can bring in more than one item if they wish. It is hoped that all donations will be ready for pick up from classes on Friday 17 Dec so that we can get them to the appropriate places in time. Staff and support classes can donate more than one box. Attached is a suggestion of what you can put in a box that would cover 4 days of meals. Feel free to use this or adjust to meet the needs of say vegetarian, gluten free if you want. You may also want to add products like toothpaste, soap etc. All products should have at least a 6-month shelf life and be dried or tinned. Details of collection will be given out next week. Please as a support class, try and participate in this activity. Staff can put together departmental boxes if they so wish too. Here is the link to a powerpoint to be shown at personal support PHS FoodBank Campaign AS NO PS CLASSES AT THE MOMENT PLEASE LEAVE DONATIONS WITH PERIOD 1 TEACHER OR PASS TO MR COOK OR MRS BLACK.
For the attention of pupils in S5 and S6 – If you have not been given an S5/6 Prelim timetable, please collect one from Miss Neilson or Mr Jamieson. Pupils should also collect a My Examinations 2022 booklet from SQA at the same time. The latest version of the timetable is on-line and new yellow versions show the changes. Teachers will also advise classes of the changes made.
If you have any prelim issues, such as clashes, please attend a brief meeting in the assembly hall immediately after interval on Wednesday so that a solution can be agreed.
PRISM Postponement – Unfortunately PRISM will not take be taking place this Friday lunchtime. We’re really sorry for any disappointment this causes and we hope to see you all back again after the Christmas holidays. Karen, Mrs Park and James want to thank you for being so amazing this term, and we all wish you a very Merry Christmas!
LIBRARY – A reminder that the Library is NOT a common room or “hang out” space at break and lunchtime. Pupils are welcome to be in the library to read, choose books or study… but NOT to just sit around to get out of the cold. PCs are also for study only. Please respect this and allow the library to be used by those who genuinely need the space.
Badminton Club – Well done to Baran Ross (S2) and Henry Clark (S2) who won our doubles club tournament last week. The club will not be running this week and will resume after the festive break 🎅.
