Emma’s short documentary “My name is Maryam…” has won the Higher Media Wittertainment Prize for 2018.

This is an in-class award for the best media product produced as part of the Higher Media course.

Emma’s documentary is an outstanding insight into the life of a Syrian refugee in Scotland. It has received praise from Jacqueline McAlpine a senior producer/director with BBC Scotland, and has since been passed on to Mr John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Education.

The 7 minute film was written, filmed, edited, produced and directed by Emma, and is remarkably moving and inspiring.
