S5/6 Media Studies – London/Harry Potter Studios Trip – Feb 2018 – The Higher Media class are planning a study trip to London in February 2018. If you are a senior with an interest in the media, this is the trip for you!

As well as a hands-on session at the London Film Academy, we will be visiting the British Board of Film Classification and the Warner Brothers’ Harry Potter Studios. There’s also a Thames River Boat cruise, a meal at the Hard Rock Café, and a chance to take part in some retail therapy in or around Covent Garden.

Art Club – There is no Art Club in school this week as we are going on an Art Trip. Pupils who have handed in consent forms to meet in room 4:18 to leave at 3:45.

I have booked a bus and tickets to see the Tchaikovsky’s – ‘The Nutcracker’ on the evening of Monday 6th November at the Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline, leaving school at 6pm.  The ballet will be performed by the Russian National Ballet and is a great work to watch.  All pupils are welcome on this excursion.  Tickets including the bus are £25 for adults and £20.50 for children.  If you would like to join us, please let me know with a deposit of half the ticket price as soon as possible. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. (Cheques should be made payable to Perth High School)

All pupils and staff: Perth and Kinross council are looking for budding bakers to help create a giant edible map of Perth and Kinross. They are looking for individuals, families or groups of people to create cakes depicting a land mark building they love, in this region or one from an available list. Final cake designs will be featured on a giant edible map of the region at Cake Fest Perth and Kinross on Sunday 19th November at Horsecross Plaza. Would any pupils who are interested  in this please see Mrs Wilson  in Rm 3.15 in the Home Economics Department on Friday lunchtime from 1.30 onwards to pick up information sheets.

Kids Lit Quiz:  Thank you to all S1s who took the Test Quiz in the Library – you all did so well and it was very hard to choose, but we now have our Team Members for this year’s Kids Lit Quiz.  Team Members – more details about the Quiz will be available after the October holidays.
