S4/5/6 – Attention all budding entrepreneurs!!! If you have ambitions to work for yourself or build a business in the future, you may be interested in attending a Business Gateway Tayside/Elevator half day Conference on 21st February at Dundee University. Elevator will provide return transport from Perth to Dundee.  This is a fantastic opportunity to hear how you can make it happen for yourself, with speakers Mark Beaumont and Kristine Moody.  Conference place and bus seat must be booked asap. S1-2 Pupils Stem Club – STEM Club will resume on Tuesday 30th January.  This term members will get the chance to complete and be awarded the Bronze Crest Award.  If you haven’t been before come along and have some fun with science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  STEW Club is held in 2.17 on Tuesday lunchtimes starting at 1.30pm.

S1 / S2 – Outdoor Taster Sessions – This term, the Outdoor staff at Perth High are offering the chance to try a range of outdoor activities.  They are open to all pupils in S1 and S2 but numbers are strictly limited.  Cost for each activity is £5.00, (if this would pose a barrier to you please contact me to discuss alternatives)

  1. Outdoor climbing at local venue   10-4pm on Saturday 24th February
  2. Hillwalking day   9-5pm on Saturday 17th March
  3. Intro to Canoeing (Loch of Clunie)  3.40 – 9pm on Monday 26th MarchFor more details and a consent form drop in to see Tony or Lisa in the climbing wall at break or lunchtime.


Pupils – There is a new cricket club starting Tuesday (16th January) lunchtime and is open to S1-S6 pupils. Come along and give it a try! There is a school indoor cricket tournament on the 25th January so you may be selected to play in the tournament if you attend the club.”

Debating – Please meet tomorrow in Room 4:6 at 1.30. We need to organise practice debates for the following motions:  This House Believes that the economic strategy of austerity has failed and This House Believes that democratic countries should boycott the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Public speakers need to meet regarding speeches on the media’s influence on the self-esteem of young people.
